Colombia: From the Air…in 4K!
The world looks so much better from the sky, we had to make a video using our drone to really capture the beauty of Colombia. Using the DJI Phantom 3 (Amazon/BH) we were able to get a unique perspective of the country.

Bogotá One of Fabian’s favorite things to photograph is graffiti, and luckily, Bogotá has plenty of it. In fact, the city is covered in it. Because of all the great photos he took of the street art there, I had to dedicate an entire post to the subject. Since Bogotá officials have more of a … More The Street Art of Colombia
1. Street Art It’s obvious that one of our favorite things to do wherever we go is to find street art and murals. Due to the lenient restrictions of graffiti in Bogotá, the city is covered in it, making it our number one activity here. If you’re interested in seeing more of our photographs check … More 8 Things We Love in Bogotá
In our last post I mentioned Bogotá being the last stop on our trip… but I was wrong. We had also planned a trip to Pereira, the coffee-producing, mountainous area of the country; as well as Cocora Valley. I hadn’t realized how far these places were from Bogotá, but here’s a map to give you … More Coffee Country and Cocora Valley
From Barranquilla we made the two hour trek to the beach city of Santa Marta. Along the way we came across several small villages, all that were unfortunately covered in non-biodegradable trash. The main reason the family came to Colombia is so that Katya could attend her cousin’s wedding in Barranquilla. The perfect opportunity for Bastien, her boyfriend (Fabian’s brother) to meet her ENTIRE family. It’s really sweet to see how intrigued he is by her culture; he craves the authentic street food and he even bought … More A Wedding in Barranquilla

Colonial style buildings line the streets in vibrant shades of pink, blue, yellow, and orange; varnished with wooden balconies and topped with adobe tile work. The Old City is … More The Walled City of Cartagena
A little over an hour outside of Cartagena are the beautiful beaches of Barú. As I’ve mentioned before, Fabian’s family is not into tourist attractions. We were on the hunt for little rundown villages and they were plentiful here. We followed the directions of Google Maps passed a few tiny communities and a beach where vendors … More Babies in Barú
When Fabian’s family travels they try to stay away from any areas infested with tourists. His father, Charles, likes to experience life from the local’s perspective. As you can see from the following images: There have been many times that we see something interesting happening from the car, so we park and hop out to … More The Meaty Market
We finally made it onto the plane… after Fabian got called into an office for a brisk pat-down by the TSA because of some substance that showed up on his hands during his 360 body scan. The flight from Fort Lauderdale to Cartagena was quick, only a little over two hours… But it seemed even … More The Journey to Colombia
